Fairies in Spring Quarantine!

Image
Spring has Sprung throughout the land, and although we are still on quarantine, we are also on spring break right now. And we are bound and determined to make it a good one full of magic and excitement. To kick off our break, we decided to welcome spring, fairy style. So we created some fairy wings with a little cardboard, paint and ribbon. Inspiration Next, we make some easy peasy fairy wands with items all found at Walmart. (Cha-ching!) We grabbed a package of dowels and ribbon and voila! Fairy Mail Company is the CUTEST little company that sends magic fairy mail to your house. (Perfect for quarantine eh?) We got the sweetest little letter in the mail from the fairy, Clementine, along with a list for a nature scavenger hunt. They has so many different options of letters to send your little one, or you can even do a subscription where you can get WEEKLY deliveries. Um yes please! Last, but DEFINITELY not least, we used our findings from our scavenger hunt to create the cutest fairy ...

Lady Lauren

Image
Hi! I’m Lauren. It's been awhile since I introduced myself to all the new readers that have stopped by. First I want to say thank you! Thank you thank you thank you for being here and supporting lil ole Lauren in whatever crazy adventure she's currently pursuing. I dug down deep and wanted to share a few things about me that resonate to the bottom of my soul. If I were to lay down outside in a rainstorm. (Much like the one happening as I am typing this.) These are the things that would be left when everything else is washed away. The bare bones so to speak. . . I love the smell of fresh laundry and the top of my baby’s head. I enjoy hearty belly laughs that result in fat tears rolling down my cheeks. I value the magic of nostalgia and the power of imagination. I hope I never get too busy to forget to admire the stars; or to wrap up in a blanket and listen to the rolling thunder. I want to always find time to make flower crowns and fairy houses; to kiss the freckles on my kids n...

How to Coordinate Outfits for Family Photos

Image
We've survived our first month with four babies and it's been a dream! Going from 3 to 4 kids has definitely been the easiest transition so far. Thank goodness! I've been super excited to get photos of all my babies together but tend to stress about coordinating outfits. (Silly, I know. You just never know when you'll get the perfect photo to frame for your house, right?!)  Here's a few things I've learned about looking our best for portraits! How to Coordinate Outfits for Family Photos   Don't Wear the Same Thing You want to coordinate not match exactly. Sure, it'd be so much easier to all get the same tshirt for everyone to wear, but it definitely wont look as good as it could.    2. Consider Textures I absolutely love textures and these can be pretty easy to incorporate into your outfits through a scarf or a hat or sweater. If someone is wearing a sleek and slim dress, put someone else in a chunky sweater   3. Don't Forget Patterns Pattern mi...

Three Postpartum Essentials

Image
You know when you have plans all lined up for something and absolutely nothing ends up following the script you had in your head? That was what happened to me the last day in the hospital after having baby Chez. Hubby and I woke up Halloween morning anxious to be discharged so we could watch the girls in their costume parade at school. I planned to get some pics on the way out the door so I could do a "coming home outfit" post. But Gavin's back had different plans.  A little background story, a few months ago, he was helping his brother move some things when he threw out his back. Guys, it was bad. He couldn't walk, he couldn't stand on his own, he couldn't do anything he was in so much pain. Luckily, he got better quickly, but after sleeping on a hard pull out couch at the hospital for a few nights must have done a number on him because as he bent to take off the sheets, he threw out his back AGAIN.  So instead of wheeling ME out of the hospital in a wheelcha...

Are Ya Kitten Me?-It's a Kitten Party!

Image
Don't let that little face fool you, this little sweetie pie was in HEAVEN when we threw her a kitten party this year. I still cant believe she is THREE! Are ya 'kitten' me?!     If you know me, you know that I love to plan parties and go a bit overboard. Ok a lot overboard. (Remember this party? Or this one?) So when I was trying to figure out what to do for Miss Posey's party this year, I knew it had to be good. I love puns and she loves animals of all sorts so having a "She's turning three, are ya KITTEN me?" party seemed like a match made in heaven, but ONLY if I could find someone with kittens and would allow them to come visit a bunch of crazy kids at a party. (Am I crazy, or am I crazy?) Luckily everything went peachy and no kitties were harmed in the making of this party. Do Your Own Kitten Party! For our menu, we had three kinds of milk; white, chocolate and strawberry. Cheese and crackers (with a little decorative mouse nibbling on them) Meat...
