Rapunzel Inspired Look

I remember first seeing Tangled in the theater. It was November 2010 and my hubby and I were still just newlyweds. He knew how much I loved Disney movies and how excited I was to see this one. I remember watching it and feeling just like a little kid. The music, the colors, the storyline, all had me completely enraptured. The scene with the lanterns and the Song, "I See the Light" literally took my breath away. And don't even get me started on the part where Flynn cuts off all Rapnzel's hair to save her. Tears. But if you know me, that's not all that surprising. When I started this "Disney Cottage Core" journey I knew immediately that for my "Rapunzel inspired look," I wanted to go to the local lavender fields to shoot since that color is just perfect for her. I called up Young Living Fields and asked when the best time of year would be and what I needed to do to get permission to do a photoshoot there. They said to call back the begi...

Tips for Disneyland with a Baby

Image
Disneyland has always been my first love and nothing describes how magical it was taking my babies there and seeing it through their eyes for the first time. Absolute magic! Although we haven't been to Disneyland in awhile, it's never too far from my heart. Last time we went was two years ago during their Halloween festivities. Since that time of year is coming up, I thought some of my tips could help someone else's dream vacation be a good one.  Disneyland with a Baby Tip #1: Planning your Stay Depending on your needs, there are many blog posts, articles and suggestions of places to stay during your visit to the Disney parks. Our group consisted of Gavin and I, Paisley, Monroe (ages 2 and 10 weeks) Grandparents and Aunties traveling from Utah to Anaheim during the month of October. Five Easy Halloween Costumes

Image
Halloween is my all time FAVORITE holiday. Hands down. Ever since I was a wee little one, we always made a big deal out of dressing up, playing games, decorations and trick-or-treating. In fact, if you have been following me for awhile you know just how into the festivities I can be. For twenty plus years, my family has a traditional party where we offer awards for best costumes, eat buckets of chili and chicken noodle soup, make homemade root beer and watch scary movies all night long. I could go on and on with stories from every year since I was six, but I'm sure you'll hear about a lot of them in other posts. This year, I thought I'd share a few of the quickest {and silliest} costumes that are super easy to throw together and are a big hit at the parties. So here are my top FIVE easy Halloween costumes ideas: Number one: Brangelina EDIT: Th...
