Are Ya Kitten Me?-It's a Kitten Party!

Image
Don't let that little face fool you, this little sweetie pie was in HEAVEN when we threw her a kitten party this year. I still cant believe she is THREE! Are ya 'kitten' me?!     If you know me, you know that I love to plan parties and go a bit overboard. Ok a lot overboard. (Remember this party? Or this one?) So when I was trying to figure out what to do for Miss Posey's party this year, I knew it had to be good. I love puns and she loves animals of all sorts so having a "She's turning three, are ya KITTEN me?" party seemed like a match made in heaven, but ONLY if I could find someone with kittens and would allow them to come visit a bunch of crazy kids at a party. (Am I crazy, or am I crazy?) Luckily everything went peachy and no kitties were harmed in the making of this party. Do Your Own Kitten Party! For our menu, we had three kinds of milk; white, chocolate and strawberry. Cheese and crackers (with a little decorative mouse nibbling on them) Meat...

Even Mermaids Get Depressed

Image
I recently posted on my Instagram how I was having a hard time. For years I've been depressed and had some various forms of anxiety. You wouldnt really know it from the things I post, but it's true. My little corner of the internet is where I can escape from it all and hopefully make the lives of others just a little bit better. Being a stay at home mom, (or mermaid) I find my life is devoted to my three little munchkins. Don't get my wrong, I wouldnt want it ANY other way. But sometimes I find it hard  when so much of my time and energy is put towards serving them and finding ways to take care of myself is kind of on the back burner. On my Instagram post, I shared a few things I do to lift my spirits when the day is getting to be too much to bear. It started to turn into a novel so I thought I'd share five more ideas here as well.  Five Ways To Not be Depressed Get help Whether it's a doctor, a friend or family member (or me!) talking about your feelings helps ...

It's a Unicorn Party!

Image
It may sound uniCORN-Y, but I sure love this little girl!  Not too long ago, this little sweetheart made me a mama and here we are five years later, (FIVE YEARS!?) celebrating with the most epic Unicorn Party I've ever seen. Below all these darling photos by Addie with Utah Alternative Photography , I included some tips/tricks and ideas so you can throw your own magical unicorn party.  TIPS/TRICKS/INSPIRATION for Your Own Unicorn Party: Food: -We requested pastel colored dough from our local bakery and made simple bread sticks, Pizza Factory style. (Wrapped around a stick/dowel from Hobby Lobby.) Roll it out, cut in strips, wrapped around stick, bake, brush on butter and salt to taste. TRY IT NOW!)  -Rainbow Unicorn (Fruit) Dip from Chocolate Covered Katie.   -My mom made the cake and it totally reminds me of the cake on Sleeping Beauty before the three fairies use their magic. ...

A JORD Watch for My Jolly Sailor Bold

Image
To My Love, Part of me can't believe we've been together almost ten years. In some ways it feels like yesterday, but at the same time it feels we've been together forever. Time flies when we're having fun, right? And we sure have a lot of fun together.    After whirlwind of cotton candy, a dorm room full of pink balloons and a horse ride through trees that seem straight out of Whoville, I knew you were the one for me. As we celebrate our life together I want you to know just how loved you are. When my seas are stormy, you calm the waves. When life is the bubbles, you're there to shellabrate. ;) We've traveled to depths unknown, but we've done it by each others side. You are my anchor and I love you more than all the dragons, unicorns, mermaids and fairies combined. You are my fairy tale. You are my happily ever after. Eternally Yours, Lauren       I have to say that it can be a little tricky to get gifts for Gavin, but I think I nailed it on the h...
