Sweet right?} Modge podge Spray paint Decal with desired quote Large Sponge brush     Step 1: Gather materials Step 2: Modge podge dictionary paper ALL over the board.   *Tip--make sure you modge podge the actual board, THEN over t...

Decorative Pom Pom Tutorial Today I am going to show you how to how to make those adorable pom pom's that are all over Pinterest. I guarantee you've pinned them at least once. Did you know they are super easy and super cheap? Totally!  So get ready. Get set... Go! First off, pick out your desired color(s) of wrapping tissue. These can be purchased at most stores, although you have a wider assortment of colors and patterns at a party store. For a basketball size pom pom, use two packages (approx. 20 sheets) You can make smaller sizes by cutting the sheets in half. They will still be full, only smaller. I personally like different sizes on my wall, adds dimension! Step 1: Fan-fold all 20 sheets Step 2 and Step 3:  Bend and fold in half     Step 4:  For a scalloped edge, cut ends so they are rounded. Magical Destination Sign DIY

Image
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?" "That depends a good deal on where you want to get to." "I don't much care where –" "Then it doesn't matter which way you go.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland You may have seen this fun magical destination sign floating around the world wide web. I know that as soon as I saw it, that I needed it in my life. Unfortunately I have a knack for finding things I like then realizing that they are no where to be bought, so I'm left on my own to make one myself. This is great news for you though! I'll show you what worked {or somewhat worked for me} and you can make one {hopefully better} for yourself. To begin, I made this magical destination sign for my mom because 1} she can be a little difficult to shop for 2} she loves all things magical and handmade 3} she has a gorgeous backyard that was just screaming for a whimsical sign like this. Because lets me honest, if there's an...

Why You Should Have a Chalkboard Wall

Image
Chances are that you've seen plenty of chalkboard tutorials or decorations all over Pinterest and chances are that you've considered putting one in your home somewhere. I'm here today to tell you.... DO IT! I absolutely LOVE my chalkboard wall and I'll tell you why... Why Everyone Should Have a Chalkboard Wall Interchangeable decorations.  Whether its Christmas, Halloween, a Birthday party or a photo shoot, you can easily change up your chalkboard for easy and unique decorations. The kids are entertained.  Enough said. I can usually get about 20 minutes worth of entertainment time for the kiddos when I let them color on the wall. It's therapeutic. Something about taking the time to draw on the chalkboard wall calms me.  Some things to know: Choking Hazard. Dont leave chalk around if you have infants who are prone to put things in their mouth as they can asphyxiate the small pieces. I keep mine in the cupboard and let the girls color with them when I'm c...

Happy First Bday Posey!

Image
I cant believe my little Posey girl has turned one this summer. We had a lovely party in Utah with Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nanny's, Papa's, Grandma's and Grandpa's, the whole clan {except Daddy who was working hard in Chicago...} and delicious chocolate cake, of course. We sure missed Gavin, but what a blessing technology is and that he was able to be there with us.         Dear Posey, What a blessing you are in our life. I am so thankful for your sweet spirit and spunky personality. The way you back into my lap to cuddle, melts my heart. The way you squeeze me in your tight hugs and sloppy kisses, turns me into a puddle (literally!) You even like to bite me every once in awhile and I cant help but think that is because I like to nibble on you all too often. I should probably stop doing that.... but you're just so yummy! nothing makes me happier to see you and your big sister playing together and having fun together. Poppy loves being your 'puppy' and you...
