Happy First Bday Posey!

Image
I cant believe my little Posey girl has turned one this summer. We had a lovely party in Utah with Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nanny's, Papa's, Grandma's and Grandpa's, the whole clan {except Daddy who was working hard in Chicago...} and delicious chocolate cake, of course. We sure missed Gavin, but what a blessing technology is and that he was able to be there with us.         Dear Posey, What a blessing you are in our life. I am so thankful for your sweet spirit and spunky personality. The way you back into my lap to cuddle, melts my heart. The way you squeeze me in your tight hugs and sloppy kisses, turns me into a puddle (literally!) You even like to bite me every once in awhile and I cant help but think that is because I like to nibble on you all too often. I should probably stop doing that.... but you're just so yummy! nothing makes me happier to see you and your big sister playing together and having fun together. Poppy loves being your 'puppy' and you...

Garden Fairies

Oh how I love my garden fairies. I mean... just look at the adventures we have together! Plus, Nanny's yard is simply magical... How can we resist?

Dear Poppy

Dear Poppy, You are almost two years old and are as smart as a whip. You are constantly amazing me with the funny things you say. For example: "Get it." You say this when you pick your nose and want me to wipe off the boogers. I am thankful you arent smearing it all over my walls or putting it in your mouth. I am HAPPY to 'get it' for you. "Kiss it." When you get a boo boo you immediately come running for me to kiss it better. I also love it when you you kiss my boo boo's better too. "Let it go." Yes, even you have not escaped the craze of this song. You are constantly asking me to play it for you and when you sing along it just melts my heart. This song and movie are seriously old news but you are so cute when you sing it that I will keep playing it for you as long as you keep asking. "Siri!" You have a fascination with the IPad and our IPhones and Siri is definitely someone you enjoy talking to. Even though she never knows wh...

My Time as a Party Princess

Image
Growing up, I was always taught to not be afraid to take risks, to be creative and to try new things. I was taught that magic was real and that dreams come true. My mother helped make every day special. She would tell me about fairies, lead me to the entrance of Narnia and would play wonderful, upbeat music. There wasnt a doubt in my mind whether things things were true, they just were. As I have grown older (not "up" I refuse to "grow up") I have learned to channel the imagination I have into creating. I've created events, I've created costumes, songs, stories, scripts. An entire business has been formed straight out of my dreams. . . and it blows my mind. In 2012 we just had our first child and moved across country to little old Iowa. I was adjusting to life as a stay at home mom and wanted to find a way to channel my creativity. I always wanted to work at a certain theme park, but since that was no longer an option, I decided to bring a little magic to th...

Birth Story of Posey

Image
Miss Monroe {for safety reasons, Monroe will now be referred to as Posey} was due on July 31, 2014 but each doctors appointment prior to her arrival suggested that she would not be arriving in time. Unless you've been there yourself, I cant tell you how awful it is to hear that when you are 9 plus months pregnant. Many tears were shed in desperation to be done and meet my little girl. My sweet mom and wonderful sister had driven out to Iowa after quite an adventure {that's a story for another day!} and were such troopers! Putting up with me and my hormones were not easy I tell you. {Sorry guys!} They entertained my energetic two year old, they cleaned my house, they made dinners and did their best to keep my mind off of how uncomfortable I was. Gavin was great too. So sweet and supportive even after working long hours at TWO pharmacies. Crazy boy. Well the due date came and went with no progression. If I didn't end up going into labor on my own, my doctor said they would in...

Party of Three

Oh how I love this little family of mine. A year ago this little one was just a twinkle in our eye and now here she is, in all her glory. Toddler days can be rough, but oh so much fun! I am so grateful to be her mama and to be the lady at this handsome guys side.

Happy First Birthday Poppy!

I cannot believe my sweet baby girl is already one year old! Where has the time gone? I was looking through your newborn pictures and got a bit emotional to see where it all began. You were so tiny and needed me for everything! Now you are growing into this big girl who likes to try things on her own. Words cannot express how wonderful this year has been. You have made me something I've always dreamed of being: a mother. I never knew I could be so happy. Each little smile, each little sound you make, puts a smile on my face. I can't believe the love my heart is able to hold, it feels like it will burst every day. Thank you for the best year ever and for many many more to come. I adore and love you so much my munchkin! Love always, Mama
